Children have daily opportunities to read books independently, in small groups and during gathering time.  Children make choices about which book they want to read.  Books are connected to the topics being investigated as well as favorite books.  Books provide opportunity for literacy and language development, social skills, and of course inspires a love of reading.

What fun-fingerprinting on the light table!  This actually provoked children's interest in printing as after painting on the light table they then got paper and pressed it on top of the paint producing a print of their work.  The toddlers continue go back to this as a favorite activity.  To extend this interest we have used different types of paint and have added tools so they could make designs in their painting.  Learning Goals-Fine Motor-Visual Arts-Color Recognition- Writing-Language and Social
