Our preschool children have been busy exploring art in different ways throughout the year.  The teachers thought it would be interesting to connect their interest in art to paper making, teaching them to reuse and recycle paper in different ways.

The teachers invited families to bring in paper scraps to recycle into our paper making activity.  The children have also been collecting paper scraps in the classroom.

we are cutting and sorting

The children are sorting the scraps by color. This activity supports children's ability to sort by one attribute as well as literacy and reading as they  sort the paper into labeled containers.   The children will then be able to compare which color(s) have more or less.
